Equal Access Scheme

The Adelaide University Union (AUU) will again offer Equal Access Grants in 2013 to assist financially disadvantaged students commencing studies at the University of Adelaide.

Priority is given to students starting their first year of university study. It is only in extremely rare circumstances that other students would be eligible for this grant.

It is intended that the grants will help buy books, stationery and other basic resources or help with other essential costs approved by the scheme's administrators.

The principal criterion will be financial need. Applicants should bring appropriate documentation with them to their interview (e.g. Centrelink health-care card, proof of Centrelink income).

The grants are one-off payments and range from $200-$500, depending on a student's circumstances, the number of applicants and availability of funds for 2013.

If you wish to apply, you will need to:

  1. Download the Equal Access Scheme application form or collect a form from an Education & Welfare Officer (EWO), ground floor of the Lady Symon Building, Adelaide University Union or phone 8303 5430 and ask for a form to be sent out to you.
  2. Lodge the completed application form with an EWO by 31 March 2013. Please note, you must answer all questions, sign and date the application form. Completed applications must be lodged in person. A brief interview will be held at the time you lodge your application.

Casey Briggs
AUU President

Applications close on 31 March 2013.
