Department for Families and Communities - Families SA: Aboriginal Scholarship Program

Applications are now open for the Families SA Aboriginal Scholarship Program.  The scholarship, which was first established in 2005, aims to assist with increasing the number of professionally qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in Families SA.

The scholarship provides financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are undertaking university study towards a qualification where there is an identified skills shortage within Families SA. Such areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Social Sciences (Human Services)
  • Youth Work
  • Criminology
  • Behavioural Sciences
     

The value of each scholarship is up to $5000 per year for full time study, or part time equivalent. Scholars will be required to take up employment with Families SA on completion of their studies.
