Hong Kong/Confucius Institute Asian Studies Scholarship
This scholarship has been established by the Hong Kong Australia Business Association and the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide.
The Hong Kong Australia Business Association is an association of over 800 members from Australia and Hong Kong which is dedicated to increasing business opportunities between Australia and Hong Kong. The Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide promotes the learning of Chinese language and culture, a broader and more informed understanding of China, both across South Australia and beyond.
One scholarship is available to a student in their third year of the Bachelor of Arts or Diploma of Languages program who has a Chinese languages major and who is undertaking study on a full time basis at the University of Adelaide. Students must also be studying subjects which will assist them to develop their understanding of Hong Kong and China.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 for one year.
This scholarship is available to both domestic and international students.
Selection of the successful candidate will be based on academic merit and the applicant’s written statement regarding how their chosen subjects will develop their understanding of Hong Kong and China.
Academic merit will be determined according to applicants’ cumulative Grade Point Average [GPA] for the preceding years.
