This Scholarship has been established by the Ian Cocks Memorial Trust in memory of the late Ian Campbell Cocks, a noted South Australian who made a significant contribution to tourism, the wine industry and commerce.
Two scholarships will be awarded to students in the second year of a Bachelor degree in Engineering, in the area of Civil Engineering at the University of Adelaide.
The Ian Cocks Memorial Trust Engineering Scholarships are available to Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia who are undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Structural), Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Environmental) or Bachelor of Engineering (Architectural) program of study at the University of Adelaide. Students should be undertaking the second year of study on a full time basis as a Commonwealth Supported student.
The value of the scholarship is $2,500 per student payable in two instalments following confirmation of enrolment at the census dates to assist with educational costs for one year only.
Selection for this scholarship will be made according to academic merit on the basis of academic performance in the first year of the program of study, having regard to the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) for the preceding year.
The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
