SC Memorial Scholarship for an Indigenous Student

This Scholarship has been established by the SC Memorial Fund to benefit an indigenous student who is undertaking a Bachelor degree in Agriculture or Health Sciences (Medicine, Nursing, Dental Surgery or Oral Health) at the University of Adelaide.

Applicants should be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent who regard themselves as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and who are so considered by the community in which they live or have lived.

The Scholarship will support one student for each year of their undergraduate program for the duration of the approved program up to a maximum of five years.

This Scholarship is open to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and undertaking a Bachelors degree in the area of Agriculture or Health Sciences (Medicine, Nursing, Dental Surgery or Oral Health) in a Commonwealth supported place at the University of Adelaide. Applicants should have completed not less than one year of study towards their degree program.

Students must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, e.g. details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

The Scholarship will provide the sum of $5,000 per year assistance for education and/or accommodation costs subject to the student maintaining satisfactory academic progress and continuing financial need.
