Thyne Reid Scholarship in Engineering

This Scholarship has been established by the Thyne Reid Foundation which is an organisation established to commemorate the memory of Mr Thyne Reid, an engineer, resident of Sydney, who established the Thyne Reid Trust No1 for educational purposes.

The Thyne Reid Foundation will provide one scholarship of up to four years’ duration to support a student from regional or remote areas of Australia undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering degree program at the University of Adelaide.  The Scholarship will provide an annual amount of $5,000 to cover education and living costs.

This Scholarship is open to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and who are from regional or remote areas of Australia.  In determining whether the student has lived in a regional or remote area the University will be guided by the ASGC Remoteness Areas classification as described in the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2004 publication, ‘Rural, Regional and Remote Health: A Guide to Remoteness Classifications’.  Students who have completed the final years of secondary education in a city school/college will only be eligible where they are able to demonstrate that their normal place of residence remained in the regional or remote area.
