Wyatt University Scholarships for Indigenous Students

Wyatt provides a number of Scholarships for Indigenous Students undertaking full-time University studies. Students must meet Wyatt eligibility criteria to receive the Scholarships of up to $3000 per annum for the duration of their course/degree.

The Wyatt Benevolent Institution, through South Australia's three universities, provides a limited number of Indigenous Scholarships for students undertaking full time, on-campus study.

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage people of Aboriginal descent to undertake university education in South Australia by assisting with some of the expenses incurred while studying.

Applicants for scholarships must be South Australian residents who:

-have lived in South Australia for a minimum of 5 years
-are of Aboriginal descent
-are studying, or applying for entry into, their first university course at the level of Foundation,   Associate Diploma, Diploma or Degree at a South Australian university

Wyatt scholarships are means tested.  Because many students will apply for, and receive a range of scholarships and/or a cadetship, Wyatt will assess eligibility for its scholarships on total family income.  Therefore, applicants need to be able to provide details of their own/ their partner’s/their family’s income.

Residents of Broken Hill and Mildura are not eligible to apply.

The scholarships will be awarded, subject to annual academic and financial reviews, for the duration of an undergraduate diploma or degree course studied full time.

Applicants entering university through one of the University of Adelaide's Wilto Yerlo Foundation programs may apply.  If eligible, they may receive a scholarship to continue their study in the Associate Diploma Music Program or a mainstream undergraduate degree.

Scholarship holders must remain enrolled full time in the course for which the Scholarship is given.  It is essential that scholarship holders notify Wyatt or the University Scholarship office of any changes to their enrolment.  Successful applicants will forfeit their scholarship if they defer, withdraw, or are precluded from study, except where there are extenuating circumstances accepted by both the University and Wyatt.

Wyatt must be notified of acceptance by the Scholarship holder of any additional Scholarships, Awards or a cadetship which provide financial payment.

Wyatt Indigenous Scholarships will be awarded on demonstrated financial need and evidence of Aboriginal descent.

Wyatt Indigenous Scholarships are $3000 per annum, paid in installments of $1500 in Semester 1 and $1500 in Semester 2.
