Key & Lock Service
The University employs a highly qualified Locksmith, Paul Botterill, who is
aware of the University policies and procedures regarding keys and locks. If you
have any issues which concern mechanical security please contact Paul for assistance
and guidance. Paul provides the following services to our staff and students:
Restricted Master Key Systems - Security Services offers two types of
restricted keying systems. BiLock - Purchasing it's own lock profile, the University
has made a serious commitment to key and lock security on all campuses. The Security
Service is responsible for BiLock implementation and overall control and management
of the systems.
Lockwood Status Six - The Security Service is an authorised Service
Centre for Lockwood Status Six Restricted Master Key Systems. Keys for these systems
can only be cut by Security and are cut on site. All system modifications, additions
and maintenance are managed by Security.
Key Cutting - University related keys are cut to code or sample. Common
keys duplicated are filing cabinet, cupboard, locker, Noticeboard and office furniture
keys. Should a unique or unusual key be presented for duplication, every effort
is made to obtain the key blanks from our distributor/contractor.
Locks Installed - Commercial quality dead latches can be installed on
most applications. Security provides a variety of locks and padlocks that can
be used to secure windows, cupboards, desk drawers, noticeboards, computers and
other property of value.
Key Control Software - Security Services offer advice on the latest
software available for the management of key issue and return within a University
department.
Emergency Lock Changes and Repairs - If a security breach occurs, Security
can affect lock changes promptly and efficiently with minimal inconvenience. Most
locks are repairable on site as the Security Security stock a wide range of spare
parts. The Security Service also offers an emergency lockout service.
