Escort Service
If you need to get to a car park or a near-campus residence after-dark in circumstances where no alternative means of secure transport is available and you have concerns for your safety please contact your Security Service's after-dark Security Escort Service. We will be very happy to assist you!
This service can be contacted via the appropriate internal security extension for each campus (listed below) or one of the Emergency Security Telephone Call Points. Student or Staff ID needs to be produced for the use of this service.
As it may take the Security Service a short time to arrive call the service well before leaving your building and arrange a time and place to meet the Security Service Escort.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure whilst on campus, whether it be during the day or at night.
Personal Safety Checklist
The following suggestions for your Safety Checklist may assit you when travelilng outside of campus hours.
- Keep mobile phones, Ipods, laptops etc out of sight
- Only bring essential items with you when visiting the campus
- Try to move around the campus in pairs or groups at night time
- Park only in well lit car parks close to your work/study area
- Know the location of your nearest Emergency Telephone
- Stick to well lit and popular walkways
- Know the location and number of the Campus Security Office
- Consider using the Security Escort Service
- Program the security emergency number into your mobile phone, 8313 5444
