Service Excellence

The University has achieved significant growth in research and teaching performance in recent years. Consistent with the strategic intent for the period 2001 – 2006 our achievements include:

• 73% growth in revenue
• 224% growth in international student numbers
• 28% growth in teaching (total EFTSL)
• 53% growth in higher degree research students
• 65% growth in research income

At the same time, key performance indicators show that research and teaching quality has also been maintained and improved. This growth in research and teaching has been achieved without significant change or growth in support services.

As the Higher Education Sector becomes more competitive and diverse, there are new challenges which require new and improved service delivery. In addition growing administrative and compliance workloads is straining the capacity of our staff to deliver.

Continuing as we are in the face of these factors will see service delivery start to constrain further growth in the core businesses of our academic community.  Sustainable growth demands improved ways of delivering support services that underpin our core business of research and teaching.
