Winter School - Experience Program

The Experience Program is suitable for students who want to experience Australia from all angles. This is a fully packaged program, combining academic rigour, safe and secure accommodation and exciting field trips covering a wide range of Australian experiences.

What's included?

  • Admission and enrolment in one or two Winter School courses
  • Choice of homestay or apartment accommodation
  • A final official transcript from the University of Adelaide
  • Tourist activities - subject to change. For Winter 2013 they may include:
    • Kangaroo Island 2 Day Trip
Students travel by bus and ferry to Kangaroo Island, a largely unspoilt and rugged island off the coast of South Australia. Students will explore the island's unique landscape and experience a range of native Australian flora and fauna.
    • Iconic Australia: Three Day Sydney Tour
Students fly to Sydney from Adelaide and take a tour of Australia's biggest and arguably most famous city. Students will have the opportunity to climb the Harbour Bridge and can explore the city via a hop-on, hop-off bus. Please note: this trip takes place at the end of Winter School so a return flight to Adelaide is not included. This means that students will usually book their departure flight from Sydney onwards.
    • Barossa Valley Tour
Students take a trip to one of South Australia's (and perhaps the world's) most famous wine regions. Students will visit wineries, the Whispering Wall, and a perennial favourite - the World's Biggest Rocking Horse.
    • Cleland Wildlife Park
Students travel by bus to this popular wildlife part located 30 minutes from the city of Adelaide. Students are given the opportunity to feed kangaroos, touch koalas and observe other Australian animals up close.
    • Australian Rules Football
Students are given a crash-course in Australia's most-loved sport, known as 'footy', run by the SANFL (South Australia's state league). As Winter School falls right in the middle of the sport's national premiership season, students will attend a home game and witness the passion and the excitement first hand (and that's just the spectators).
    • Camp Coorong
Students travel to the Coorong, a unique wetland ecosystem that stretches along the South Australian coastline. This campsite has been established by the indigenous Ngarrindjeri people to promote understanding of their heritage and culture, through hands-on activities.
    • Other

Accommodation Options
