The Adelaide Asian Studies Group

At present the Adelaide Asian Studies Group is a loosely constituted collection of scholars from across South Australia’s three universities but is not limited to them. Anyone with serious academic interests in topics and issues Asian is welcome to join.

Using the 2008 Signature Event Conference we hope to:
• formalise arrangements for this group;
• use it to further promote cross-institutional cooperation;
• increase the ability of South Australian-based scholars to liaise
• increase the chances of successful funding applications
• work across discipline boundaries to increase mutual understanding and develop new insights.

Formal establishment of the AASG will occur with a special meeting to be held on Wednesday December 5 at the University of Adelaide.
