Call for Papers

The 2008 ARC-APFRN Signature Event Conference - Globalising Religions and Cultures in the Asia Pacific is based around but not limited to, a number of key themes and based on these, a number of panels have already been settled. 

The Adelaide Asian Studies Group invites contributions from scholars interested in the issues of change, adaptation, hybridisation, and secondary consequences of religion in the Asia Pacific region, including political and social ones.

Proposals for panel sessions, paper presentations or posters are welcome on all these and related themes.

Abstracts can be submitted here.

Abstracts should be submitted on the forms provided to: TBC

  • Panel Sessions

To propose a panel session of 90 minutes duration (3 speakers @ 15 minutes + 15 minutes discussion each), please submit a session abstract comprising ALL individual speaker abstracts, session title, convenor and chairperson (see page 4 for further information).

  • Papers

Oral presentations will be allocated 15 minutes speaking time (+ 15 min discussion) in an appropriately themed session.

  • Posters

A poster consists of an A2-size poster to be on display throughout the conference and/or a powerpoint presentation to be included on the conference website. Presenters will be requested to discuss their poster (10 minutes) on Wednesday 3rd December as part of the Postgraduate Program.
