Biography/Background [top]

Burhanuddin is an international student from Indonesia.  He started his journey as a PhD student at the University of Adelaide in 2010. Burhan has always been interested in educational management and leadership area. Furthermore, his interests include teaching, conducting research and writing articles in the related topics such as leadership, educational management, project management, and human resources management.

  • State University of Malang, Indonesia (Sarjana degree S-1/Drs., in Educational Administration) 1983.
  • The Flinders University Adelaide Australia (Master degree in Educational Management) 1994.
  • University of Adelaide, Australia (PhD candidate) 2010 - present.

  • Government official and as a lecturer in educational administration & management at the School of Education, State University of Malang (1984 – present).
  • Head/Chairman of Educational Administration Department School of Education, State University of Malang (1994 – 2000).
  • Special staff of Vice Rector I for international relations and cooperation (1994-1997)
  • Deputy Dean for human resource management, finance, and facility at the School of Education, State University of Malang (2000 – 2008).
  • The coordinating member of international partnership project in educational linkages in teacher education between Ohio State University and State university of Malang (1997-2002).
  • Chairman of national educational management/principalship training for senior high school principals under the national project of Senior Secondary Schools (SSE), Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education, Jakarta Indonesia (1995-1998).
  • Chairman of national educational management training for primary school principals under the national project of Primary Quality Improvement Project (PEQIP), Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education, Jakarta Indonesia (1995-1997).
