SmoothStart Day

SmoothStart Day is the keystone of the SmoothStart Networking Program.  On SmoothStart Day, you will meet your mentor and a group of other students who will be studying a similar degree program and are facing the same new challenges as you.  Morning tea and lunch are provided and after the fun of meeting your peers, the Adelaide City Council will host the 'Get on the Bus!' tour, which is MC'd by comedy performers. 

SmoothStart Day will provide you with the opportunity to:

• Connect with other students in small as well as large groups
• Meet new students doing the same degree program as yourself
• Find out about relevant support and student services
• Tour the Uni with experienced students as guides
• Go on a bus tour of the inner city to familiarise yourself with key services and activities (and pick up freebies on the way!)

Research and practice wisdom tells us that students who get involved in campus life within the first six weeks are far more likely to complete their degrees and be successful students. SmoothStart Day is the first of many social events that will be on offer to you, as well as help lay the foundation for a great Uni career.
