The Way Ahead to 2010

The University of Adelaide has commenced an exciting new $400 million investment in state-of-the-art facilities over the next four years.

Leading this facilities ‘boom’ is the new $100 million Faculty of Engineering, Mathematical and Computer Science building, Innova 21, which will provide world-class facilities to support the strong growth in this faculty.

There will also be a $45 million refurbishment for the Faculty of Professions at 10 Pulteney Street that will result in the co-location of a number of the Faculty of Professions business Schools, effectively creating “Professions on Pulteney”.

A $30 million Wine Innovation Cluster building will be developed at the Waite Campus as well as a $5 million development of a Bio Skills Teaching Laboratory and upgrade of the Animal Services Laboratory at the Medical School on Frome Road. In addition, the Premier has announced the opening of South Australia’s first veterinary school to be located at Roseworthy Campus.

All new developments will be state-of-the-art and will have an emphasis on ‘green’ design.

This broad, multi-disciplinary expenditure will improve the research and teaching facilities for every staff member and student on campus, strongly supporting the future direction for the University community.
