Hughes Plaza Learning HubThe University is changing the face of student, staff and community services in the redevelopment of Hughes Plaza in 2009. The Hughes Plaza Learning Hub will become one of Adelaide's most dynamic interactive spaces for students, staff and the general public, providing a central location for University services at the heart of the University's North Terrace Campus. The project will be developed with the aim of providing a 'community' centre and will offer learning facilities, information kiosks, exhibits and displays, food services and entertaining areas for informal and formal events. It will integrate retail and public services with new learning facilities, student services and iconic facilities such as the Barr Smith Library. The development of the Hughes Plaza Learning Hub will bring together the leading thinking on educational space planning and has engaged Dr Kenn Fisher as the project's educational space planner. The redevelopment of the precinct represents a significant change in learning and social interaction by incorporating technologies such as online learning, learning management systems and wireless networks.
