Work-Life BalanceEnabling employees to maintain a balance between their paid work commitments and their personal, community and cultural responsibilities, interests and goals, benefits not only individuals, but also families, employing organisations and the broader community. The University of Adelaide recognises these benefits, and supports the development of a workplace culture that acknowledges and values the importance of work-life balance. We aim to assist staff in managing their work with outside interests, goals and responsibilities through policies and practices that provide flexibility in their work arrangements. Additionally, this website has been created as a resource to provide information for staff and their Managers on the benefits of and barriers to work-life balance, the flexible work and leave options available, how to draft and negotiate a flexible work proposal, and the services supporting your achievement of work-life balance. |
