Staff Responsibilities

Staff members’ responsibilities for initiating and managing flexible work arrangements include:

Under the proposed change to work arrangements staff are responsible for:

  • abiding by the arrangements agreed to, including meeting agreed deadlines and work standards
  • maintaining contact with the work unit and other staff
  • obtaining approval for changes to the agreement.

Exploring Flexible Work Options

Staff members wishing to make changes to their work arrangements in order to accommodate personal, family, community or cultural responsibilities or interests need to:

  • assess the University’s flexible work options and leave entitlements
  • talk to other staff who are utilising flexible work arrangements
  • work out an arrangement that suits both you and the work unit – clarify personal, team and work unit requirements – and devise a flexible work proposal before meeting with your Manager to discuss your proposal discussing your proposal
  • consider and seek advice on the impact of the proposed arrangement on your superannuation, long service leave and other entitlements.
