2009 Mid-Year Entry: Application Process

Current Students

Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate Commonwealth-supported place at the University of Adelaide who wish to change to another program within the University can apply via the internal transfer process. Please refer to the list of undergraduate programs available for internal transfer at mid-year.

Students need to apply by completing and submitting the internal transfer application form. The form must be completed in hard copy, signed, and submitted to the Student Centre. Please ensure to retain the stamped receipt as proof of the submission of your application to the Student Centre.

Current students who are currently enrolled in an Australian Fee-based Enrolment (AFBE) place who wish to transfer to a Commonwealth-supported place in either the same or another program must apply via SATAC.

Students who wish to apply for a place in an Honours Program should apply via the relevant Faculty Student Office.

Internal Transfer Offer Round dates (approx):

Friday 19 June - 1st offer round posted
Friday 10 July - main (2nd) offer round posted
Monday 20 July - 3rd offer round posted


Prospective Students

Students who are not currently enrolled at the University of Adelaide, but wish to be considered for mid-year entry to a particular program at the University of Adelaide, must apply online through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). Not all programs are available at mid-year - please refer to the list of undergraduate programs  available.

Applications via SATAC opened on Monday 4 May 2009 and will now close on Friday 3 July 2009.

SATAC Offer Round dates:

Thursday 18 June - 1st offer round posted (first preferences only)
Thursday 9 July - Main (2nd) offer round posted (all preferences)
Wednesday 15 July - 3rd offer round posted (all preferences)


International Students

For current international students interested in changing programs for semester 2, 2009, refer to the International Enquiry website.

Prospective international students wanting to apply to the University of Adelaide should refer to the Information for International Students website.


Postgraduate Coursework Applicants

There are two different application methods for Postgraduate Coursework programs depending on the program you wish to apply for. To apply for some programs you must make your application directly to the relevant Faculty whilst others require online application via SATAC's GradStart application portal.

Sustainable Energy Engineering enables development of long-term solutions to meet the world's rapidly growing energy needs. Three distinct streams: Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical are available as part of the program. Graduates will develop and apply alternative technologies such as wind, solar, tidal, wave, hydro and geothermal power.
