“My volunteer work overseas provided me with employment and life experiences that I only once dreamed of!”
In the fourth year of my International Studies and Arts double degree; I decided that I wanted to gain overseas experience. Through Projects Abroad, I chose to volunteer in a Bolivian orphanage and lived with a Bolivian family. This experience was life changing and enabled me to see the world through from a new perspective. After volunteering and travelling through South America, I returned home to complete my university studies.
As a result of volunteering overseas, I was offered a position with Projects Abroad as a consultant for Australia and New Zealand. I am now in a role that is focused towards informing and helping others achieve their goal of becoming volunteers in 25 developing countries around the world. Working in an organisation of international scale, my experience, both paid and voluntary, has steered my career pathway in a global direction. My work with Projects Abroad is just the first step towards a career focussed on development and politics. My volunteer work overseas provided me with employment and life experiences that I only once dreamed of!
