I am in the final year of my degree and in addition to my studies have participated in a variety of extra-curricular activities. I was fortunate to gain a place in the CPA Australia Internship Program, with one of the ‘big four’ accounting firms - Ernst & Young.

I decided to seek the help of the Careers Service to gain a competitive edge. I worked with Careers staff to help me refine my résumé and cover letter, and attended a Resume Club workshop to gain insight into how I could make my application stand out. When I was offered an interview with Ernst & Young, I talked with the Careers Advisor and practiced my interview skills in a mock panel interview.

During the past two summer holidays I worked in three different countries - China, Singapore and Australia. I found this experience to be of great value to my professional and personal development. Securing a place in the internship program with Ernst & Young led to the offer of a graduate position for commencement in 2010.

I wish to thank the Careers Service staff for their assistance, time and effort. Their strong, professional support played an important role in helping me achieve my career goal!
