As part of my studies, in the December 2008 holiday period, I worked with Origin Energy as an assistant accountant through the CPA Australia Internship Program.

As an international student, I found it highly beneficial to participate in the internship. It provided me with an opportunity to put theory into practice, to enhance my professional skills in a real business workplace and to have exposure to a new learning experience in the Australian labour market. I know that the experience I gained by participating in the internship will enhance my employment prospects in the future.

I want to thank the Careers Service for their kind assistance with my application for this internship. They gave me advice about how to improve my résumé and provided other useful tips through an Interview Skills workshop. I feel empowered having developed these important capabilities, which I know will benefit my future career prospects.
