December Parchments
The parchments from the December graduation ceremonies are now available for collection from the Student Centre. All you need to bring is some Photo ID.

December 2006 Conferral Statements on Transcripts
The conferral statements from the December 2006 are now available on academic transcripts. For information on obtaining a transcript, please visit the Academic Transcripts website.

Enrolments 2007
Enrolments for 2007 open progressively for continuing students from Monday 8th January and for commencing students from Monday 29th January. For all information regarding enrolments including enrolment opening times and Faculty websites, click here.

Summer School 2007
Enrolments for summer semester 2007 closed on Monday 8th January. If you wish to enrol in a summer semester course, you will need to contact your Faculty or school office .

Summer School 2007
Enrolments for summer semester 2007 opened on Monday 4th December. If you wish to enrol in a summer semester course, you will need to contact your Faculty and then enrol through Access Adelaide.

Student Centre Closure
The Student Centre will be closing on Friday 22nd December 2006 and will re-open at 9:30am Tuesday 2nd January. Please note that on Friday 22nd December, we will not be processing any payments after 12noon. This includes academic transcript purchases and printing and internet quota. We will be closing the front doors at 2:00pm however the phonelines will be operating until 5:00pm.

December Graduations - What Next?
If you have applied to graduate in the December ceremonies, there are some things you need to do.

  1. You must log in to Access Adelaide on Sunday 3rd December from 12:00 noon to view your Graduation Status Letter. This will notify you of your graduation status and if you are eligible to graduate or not. It will also notify you of the amount of guest tickets you have been allocated. If you wish to request more, you can do so from the Graduation Status letter in Access Adelaide.
  2. Any anomalies (ie: outstanding fees, change of name) must be cleared by 5:00pm on 7th December so that you can graduate.
  3. You will need to hire your academic dress. You can complete a form on the Graduations Website, print the form and pay at the Student Centre.
  4. You will need to collect your tickets from the Student Centre only on the dates and times nominated on your Graduation Status letter.

Semester 2 Results
Semester 2 results will be available in Access Adelaide from 28 November 2006. If you have any enquiries about your results, please contact your department.

Trimester 3 Withdraw Fail (WF) date
The last day to withdraw from trimester 3 courses with a Withdraw Fail (WF) result is Friday 24th November. Please note you will still be liable for the fees.

Graduation Applications Closed
The last day to apply to Graduate for the December 2006 ceremonies was at 5:00pm Friday 27th October. The next ceremonies will be held offshore in April 2007 or in Adelaide August or December 2007. For information about graduations, visit the Graduations Website.

Exam Timetable
The semester two exam timetable is now available. To view your personalised timetable please log in to Access Adelaide. Alternatively, you can view the complete timetable on the Examinations website.

The last day to withdraw from trimester 3 courses and with a Withdraw Not Fail (WNF) for was Friday 27th October. Any courses dropped after that date will incur a Withdraw Fail (WF) result and you will still be liable for the fees.

Semester 2 Withdrawal
The last day to withdraw from any semester two courses (with a Withdraw Fail (WF) result) was Friday 27th October. Semester 2 courses can no longer be dropped online. If you have any enquiries about this, please contact your Faculty.

FREE PowerPoint 2003 Seminar: Using PowerPoint Effectively for Presentations
A seminar for students using PowerPoint will be held from 1:10 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday 9th October 2006 in the Seminar Room, Level 3 South, Barr Smith Library. The presentation will cover the effective use of text layout, the use of graphics in presentations and some effective presentation skills.

Withdraw Fail (WF)
The last day to drop a course and receive a WNF was Friday 15th September. Any courses dropped from that date onwards will incur a Withdraw Fail (WF) result and you will still be liable for the fees.

Trimester 3 Fees Due
Trimester 3 fees are due Friday 15th September. You can access your invoice in Access Adelaide and can pay using a number of options. For a list of these options, please visit the Student Finance website or check your invoice.

Internet Payments Unavailable 15th September
Payments for Internet Quota will not be possible from 2:30pm Friday 15th September due to a system upgrade. If students are wishing to obtain extra quota, they will need to do so before 2:30pm Friday or from Monday 18th September onwards.

Student Centre Services at the Waite Campus
Student Centre services have returned to the Waite Campus every Tuesday during teaching weeks from 10:00am-2:00pm in the WISA office. If you have any enquiries, please contact us on 8303 5208 or email student.centre@adelaide.edu.au

Census Date
The last day to withdraw from semester two courses without them appearing on your record and without owing fees is Thursday 31st August. Last Day to Add Online
The last day to add most courses online was Monday 7th August 2006. To add your courses now, you will need to contact your Faculty/School office.

Transfer Advice Day
Transfer Advice Day will be held on Thursday 24 August. Between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, advisers will be available in the Eclipse function room, level 4 Union House. No appointment is needed.

If you would like help deciding whether transferring to a different degree is the option you wish to pursue, or would like advice about the process you will need to follow, the advisers in the Eclipse can help you.

If you have decided that you are going to seek to transfer to a different program or add a new program to your existing one, and you would like advice about the new program, please approach the office of the Faculty or School that teaches the program.

If you have questions about credit/advanced standing for work already done in your present program, please ask the Faculty or School you plan to transfer to.

If you have concerns about your career directions rather than the program you are enrolled in, contact the Careers Service for advice.

IT Services for Students
During Semester 2, Information Technology Services is providing IT support for students in the Barr Smith Library and in the student computing laboratories. These services will include help with online services (such as MyUni, Webmail, Wireless Network), help with the Office 2003 programs (such as Word, Excel etc). This service is available 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday on Level 3 South of the Barr Smith Library. Services are available in the computer labs on a roaming basis. Semester 2 Fees Due
Semester 2 tuition and student contribution amounts (HECS fees) are due on Friday 18th August 2006. You can access your invoice in Access Adelaide and can pay using a number of options. For a list of these options, please visit the Student Finance website or check your invoice.

Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU)
VSU took effect from 1st July 2006. The means that it is not compulsory for you to pay Student Services Fees. However, you may still elect to join the Adelaide University Union (AUU) voluntarily, and will receive a variety of benefits. For more information on AUU membership benefits, please visit:

If you wish to join the AUU:

  1. Login to Access Adelaide, select AUU Membership and follow the prompts
  2. Print your AUU Membership Payment Form and pay at the Student Centre or other approved outlet
  3. Take your receipt to the AUU reception to be issued with your AUU membership card.

Please note that when you elect to join the AUU, a charge will be generated on your student account. Should you decide not to pay the membership fee after electing to join, this charge will remain on your account until the end of Semester, when it will be removed.

Alternatively, you may elect to join the AUU directly at the AUU reception.

Personal Notebook Acquisition Program
As a result of the strong partnership between the University, Commander and IBM, we are pleased to offer students and staff a Personal Notebook Acquisition Program.

All Notebooks acquired via this site will be pre configured for the University wireless network and have personal productivity software installed (Open Office). It is hoped that students and staff take advantage of these very competitively priced Notebooks for personal use.

Graduation Tickets
By now, you would have received your 'Eligibility Letter' in Access Adelaide. This letter not only indicates if you are eligible to graduate, but how many guest tickets you have been allocated. The tickets will be available for collection from the Student Centre as of Wednesday 26th July. The Student Centre will be open from 8:30am-5:30pm on 26th, 27th, 28th, 31st July and 1st August for ticket collection only. Please make sure you come in with your photo ID. Or, you may wish to authorise another person to collect your tickets on your behalf. If so, please complete a Proxy authorisation form from the website and either send it to the Student Centre or give it to your proxy when they come in.

Student Cards for New Students
If you are a new student and will be commencing study in Semester 2, 2006, you will be able to obtain your Student ID Card from Card Services as of Monday 26th June 2006. If you are a previous student enrolling for Semester 2 and will need a new sticker, you can also obtain this from Card Services as of Monday 26th June.

Semester 2 Quotas
Internet and Printing quotas for semester 2 will be applied to student accounts on 1st July 2006. You can check your Internet Account and your usage details on the Internet Usage Website. You can also check your Printing Account and usage details on the Student Printing website.

Semester 1 results
Semester 1 results will be available on Access Adelaide from 11th July 2006. If your results are not available, contact your School or Faculty. If you think that you may need a supplementary exam, contact your School or Faculty for advice.

Graduation Eligibility
As applications for the August Graduation ceremonies have now closed, students qualifications will soon be checked. You will receive an 'Eligibility Letter' in Access Adelaide from 9:00am, Saturday 15th July. Please make sure you log in to Access Adelaide and read your letter. If there are any problems, you can contact the relevant area as specified on your letter.

Exam Timetable
The semester one exam timetable will be available on Friday 12th May. To view your personalised timetable please log in to Access Adelaide. Alternatively, you can view the complete timetable on the Examinations website.

Mid Year Entry
If you wish to apply for mid-year entry, you must do so by Friday 16th June 2006. For further information, please visit the website.

Last day to Withdraw Fail (WF)
The last day to withdraw from semester one courses with a Withdraw Fail (WF) result was Friday 2nd June. Please note that you will still owe the fees for that course.

Avian Influenza
Avian influenza ("Bird Flu") is a contagious viral infection that can affect all species of birds, and can cause disease in humans. The University of Adelaide have a website and a working party which is currently monitoring the global Avian Influenza situation and possible impacts on the University of Adelaide.

The working party is developing a range of measures that the University will take if the situation worsens overseas. If you are travelling to an affected area or an international student from an affected area please refer to the website or for further information contact Jane Knipe on 8303 4638 or email: jane.knipe@adelaide.edu.au .

Last day to Apply to Graduate
Are you completing study in Semester 1 and want to graduate? The next Graduation ceremonies are being held 31 July-1 August 2006. To apply, you must log into Access Adelaide and complete the application by 5:00pm Friday 9th June.

The last day to withdraw from semester one courses with a Withdraw Not Fail (WNF) result is Friday 5th May. Please note that you will still owe the fees for that course. IF you withdraw after this date, you will receive a Withdraw Fail (WF) result. If you wish to withdraw from any courses, please log in to Access Adelaide.

Transfer Advice Day and other sessions
If you are considering a change to a different degree program, advisers from the Prospective Students Office and the Faculties and Schools will be on hand to help you make your decisions. The first Transfer Advice Day for 2006 will be on Thursday 27 April, in the Equinox, level 4, Union House, between 10:00am and 4:00pm. The second will be held on Thursday 24 August.

Faculty and School Advisers will be available at the following times on Thursday 27 April:

  • Commerce - 10:00am - 1:00pm
  • Economics - 1:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Law - 10:00am - 2:00pm
  • Sciences - 10:00am - 12:00pm. After 12:00pm, please visit the Faculty office.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences - 11:00am - 3:00pm
  • Engineering, Computer & Maths Sciences - 10:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Semester one Fees
Semester one invoices are now overdue.

The census date for Commonwealth supported students has passed (Friday 31 March 2006), and your student contribution (formerly known as HECS) has been deferred to the Australian Taxation Office under the HECS-HELP scheme.

Student Computer Labs
Student computer labs will be unavailable from 6:00 pm on Friday 7 April until 9:00 am on Monday 10 April while a major upgrade is completed.

Labs that are usually available on Saturday and Sunday are being upgraded first and should be available from 1:00 pm on Saturday 8 April.

Online services that can be accessed remotely via the internet, dial up or wireless will not be affected including email, MyUni, Access Adelaide, the library catalogues etc.

If students have problems logging in next week – they should go to the Student Centre, North Terrace Campus - Level 4 of the Wills Building. Roseworthy and Waite students please ring 35208 (internal) or 8303 5208 (external).

If students have any other issues they should call the ITS Helpdesk – DIAL **1 using the phone in one of the labs, or 8303 3000 (external).

Transfer Advice Day and other sessions
A Peer Advice Drop-in session for First Years will be offered on Tuesday 28 March. Come to the Margaret Murray Room, level 4, Union House between 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Talk to senior students from your Faculty or School for an experienced student's perspective on Uni life.

A Career & Study Planning workshop will be offered on Wednesday 29 March (1:30 pm - 2:30 pm), and repeated on Thursday 30 March (11:30 am - 12:30 pm) in Napier LG 29. These workshops will focus on identifying your skills, influences and career plans, and the competitive nature of the workforce.

Semester 1 Printing Quota
Continuing Undergraduates and Postgraduate Coursework students have received the $30.00 University funded quota. All commencing students will receive their $30.00 quota the first time they print in a lab. For information on your printing account, visit the Student Printing website.

Summer Semester
The last day to withdraw from summer semester with a 'withdraw fail' result is Friday 17th February. Please note that you will still owe the fees for the course.

Power and systems downtime
On Saturday 21st January 7:00am-6:00pm, there will be a complete power and system outage. As a result of a critical need to increase the capacity of the University Computer room, extensive electrical work needs to be undertaken. This electrical work requires a complete power down of the University primary internal and commercial computer rooms. This will affect all computers on campus and all systems, including email, MyUni and Access Adelaide will be unavailable.
