December Graduations
The closing date to apply for the December Graduation ceremonies was Friday 26 October. If you have applied to graduate in the December ceremonies, there are some things you need to do.

  1. To find out your specific ceremony allocation time and date, log into Access Adelaide from 9am Friday 2 November and check your Graduation Application details.
  2. You must log in to Access Adelaide on Sunday 2 December from 12:00 noon to view your Graduation Status Letter. This will notify you of your graduation status and if you are eligible to graduate or not. It will also notify you of the amount of guest tickets you have been allocated. If you wish to request more, you can do so from the Graduation Status letter in Access Adelaide.
  3. Any anomalies (ie: outstanding fees, change of name) must be cleared by 5:00pm on Thursday 6 December so that you can graduate.
  4. You will need to hire your academic dress. You can complete a form on the Graduations Website, print the form and pay at the Student Centre by 5:00pm on Tuesday 11 December.
  5. You will need to collect your tickets from the Student Centre only on the dates and times nominated on your Graduation Status letter.

Christmas Closure
The Student Centre and Card Services will close at 4pm Friday 21st December 2007 and will re-open at 8:45am on Wednesday 2 January 2008.

Semester 2 Supplementary Exams
Semester 2 Supplementary Exams are from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 December 2007. You can view the Supplementary Exam timetable on the Exams website.

Semester 2 Exam Timetable
The semester two exam timetable is now available. To view your personalised timetable please log in to Access Adelaide. Alternatively, you can view the complete timetable on the Examinations website.

Internal Transfer for 2008 for Domestic Students
If you are enrolled at the University of Adelaide this year and you wish to change your program of study for 2008, you may be eligible to apply for an internal transfer rather than applying through SATAC. Internal transfer applications are open until 2 November 2007. Late applications will not be accepted. Please refer to the list of undergraduate programs, available on the Internal Transfers website, to see if the program you are interested in is available for internal transfer.

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for an internal transfer if:

  • You are enrolled as a Commonwealth Supported Student
  • You have an enrolment in an undergraduate program at the University in 2007
  • You meet the pre-requisites (if any) for the program that you want to transfer to
  • You are eligible for selection based on your year 12 TER. This means that generally you will have completed two years or less of study at tertiary level, by the end of Semester 2, 2007.
  • Your TER meets or exceeds the cut-off for admission in 2007
  • You are eligible for selection based on your STAT result. This means that generally you will have completed two years or less of study at tertiary level, by the end of Semester 2, 2007.
  • You are eligible to apply with a completed TAFE Certificate IV (some Science programs only), Diploma or Advanced Diploma
  • You are enrolled in a double/combined degree and wish to transfer into one or other of the degrees that make up the double/combined program

Withdraw Fail (WF) Date
The last day to withdraw from semester two courses was Friday 26th October. Withdrawals from semester 2 courses are no longer able to be done via Access Adelaide.

December Graduations
Are you completing study this semester and want to graduate? The next Graduation ceremonies are being held 13th - 21st December 2007. To apply, you must log into Access Adelaide and complete the application by 5:00pm Friday 26th October. For further information about Graduations, please visit the Graduations website.

Withdraw Not Fail (WNF) Date
The last day to withdraw from semester two courses with a Withdraw Not Fail (WNF) was Friday 14th September. If you withdraw from courses now, you will receive a Withdraw Fail (WF) result and will still owe the fees for that course. If you wish to withdraw from any courses, please log in to Access Adelaide.

Census Date
The last day to withdraw from semester 2 courses without them appearing on your record and without owing fees was Friday 31st August. If you withdraw now, you will receive a Withdraw Not Fail (WNF) result and will still owe the fees for that course.

Semester 2 Fees are now Overdue
If you are a Commonwealth Supported Student, you are no longer able to pay your fees as they will shortly be deferred to the HECS-HELP loan scheme.

Tuition fees for semester 2 are now overdue so please arrange payment of your fees immediately.

Invoices for semester 2 tuition fees and student contribution amounts are available on Access Adelaide.

Please not the Student Centre will not accept cash as payment for the following charges:

  • International Student tuition fees
  • Commonwealth Supported fees
  • Australian Fee Based tuition fees
  • any other tuition fees.

The Student Centre will continue to accept payment of these charges using the following methods:

  • EFTPOS – both debit and credit cards are accepted (No Diners Cards accepted)
  • Cheque – written to “The University of Adelaide”
  • Bank Draft
  • Money Order.

Living Life Impact – Open Day 2007
Open Day is an excellent opportunity for all members of the community to Live the Life Impact at the University of Adelaide.

The day offers a broad range of activities including an art exhibition, the Forum seminar series, a 'Battle of the Bands' competition, festival of short film, prospective student presentations and much more.

Transfer Advice Day, Tuesday 14 August 2007
The second semester Transfer Advice Day is on Tuesday 14 August 2007. If you have been thinking about changing to a different degree program, or adding another degree to your studies, and would like to discuss your options with an adviser, Transfer Advice Day offers services to help you.

Advisers will be available 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Transfer Advice Day Centre in the Equinox Function Room, level 4, Union House, and at Faculty and School offices (see list below). Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis; there may be some waiting time during periods of high-demand.

In the Equinox Function Room:

  • Prospective Students Office advisers available all day, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (advice on all programs) .
  • Engineering, Mathematical and Computer Sciences - available all day .
  • Law adviser: 10:30 am - 1:00 pm (after this time, contact the Law School office, Ligertwood Building 1.07) .
  • Humanities & Social Sciences adviser: 10:00 - 2:00pm (after this time contact the Faculty Office, Napier Building G.09) .
  • Commerce: 11:00 am - 3:30 pm (outside these times, contact the Commerce School office - Ground floor, Security House, North Terrace)

Advisers for these areas may be consulted at Faculty and School offices:

  • Science - at the Faculty Office, Ground Floor, Darling Building .

August Graduations – What Next?

Semester 2 Student Cards
Student Cards for semester 2 can now be obtained or updated. To do this, you will need to go to Card Services located in the Hughes Plaza. If you are obtaining a new student card, you will need to take photo ID with you. If you are updating your existing student card, you need to take your current student card.

Semester 2 Printing and Internet Quotas
University Funded Printing and Internet Quotas for semester 2 have been allocated to accounts.

To check your Printing Quota, including your account summary, how much you have left and what you have printed, please visit the Student Printing website.

Mid Year Enrolments 2007
Enrolments for mid-year will be held Monday 9 to Thursday 19 July 2007. If you are commencing a program for the first time at mid year, please visit the relevant Faculty and Schools website for advice about course selection and information. Continuing students are encouraged to attend their enrolment advice sessions.

Semester 1 Supplementary Exams
Semester 1 Supplementary Exams are from Monday 16 to Saturday 21 July 2007. You can view the Supplementary Exam timetable on the Exams website.

Withdraw Fail (WF) Date
The last day to withdraw from semester one courses and receive a Withdraw Fail (WF) was Friday 1st June. As semester one classes are now finished, you are no longer able to withdraw from any classes.

Mid Year Entry 2007
Mid-year entry is an application round which allows people to apply for entry to certain university programs outside of the application round at the end of each year. It is ideal for those who are not coming to university straight after completion of year 12, and also for enrolled students wanting to change their current program.

The mid-year intake offers a range of both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs and will be available for both Australian Fee-Based places and Commonwealth-Supported places. Not all programs are available for mid-year transfer. Please refer to the list on the Mid Year Entry website for further information.

Applications for mid-year entry open 7 May 2007 and close 15 June 2007.

Prospective Students: Students who are not currently enrolled at the University of Adelaide, who wish to be considered for mid-year entry to a particular program at the University of Adelaide, must apply online through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).

Current Students: Students who are currently enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place at the University of Adelaide and who wish to change to another Commonwealth Supported Program within the university, need to apply via an internal application form which will be available from the Student Centre or on this webpage from 7 May. The form must be completed in hard copy as signatures are required, and submitted to the Student Centre.

Current Students who either are currently enrolled in an Australian Fee-based Enrolment program or those who wish to add an Australian Fee-based Enrolment program must apply via SATAC.

Students who wish to apply for a place in an Honours Program should apply via the relevant Faculty Student Office.

International Students: Information for International Students wanting to apply to the University of Adelaide can be found here.

Postgraduate Coursework Programs: Applications for Postgraduate Coursework programs in Applied Linguistics, Art History and International Studies must be made through SATAC. Applications for mid-year entry to all other Postgraduate Coursework programs must be made via the relevant Faculty.

Mid Year Entry 2007 Information Night
There will be a mid year entry information night held for people who would like further information about applying for mid year entry in 2007. The details for the information night are;

Microsoft Student Offer
For a limited time only, try Microsoft Office 2007 (free download), buy it for one year for $25 or buy it for life for $75.

Students are able to download a trial version of the Office 2007 software from the website. Later, you can then purchase a licence key from the website www.itsnotcheating.com.au which turns the trial copy into a fully licensed version.

Major IT Upgrade
ITS are pleased to announce that the major IT Upgrade over the weekend has been completed ahead of schedule and all online services are now operational.

We would value your assistance in advising us of any issues that may not have been identified in testing by contacting Helpdesk on 8303 3000.

Please remember that access to on-line services that have been affected will be with the new username format of a1234567 and the password will be the same as the password you used to access email before the upgrade.

Affected services can be found on ITS website or on the back of the blue fliers distributed last week.

As from Monday 19 February 2007, the Student Centre will not accept cash as payment for the following charges:

  • any other tuition fees.

The Student Centre will continue to accept payment of these charges using the following methods:

Please note that payment methods for other charges remain unchanged.

Last Day to Add Semester 1 Courses Online
The last day to add most undergraduate courses online was on Monday 12th March. If you wish to add courses for semester 1 now, you must seek approval from your Faculty or School office.

New Student Enrolments 2007
Enrolments for new students for 2007 open progressively for from Monday 29th January. There are a number of websites you can visit for information and assistance with the enrolment process.

Student Diaries Now Available
Student Diaries are now available for collection from the Union Reception in the Cloisters. All you need to collect your copy is your updated Student Card.

Orientation Week 2007
Orientation Week will be held Monday 19th - Friday 23rd February. There will be a number of activities and tours being run during the week as well as preliminary lectures for your courses. For all the information about O'Week, visit the website.

Last day to Apply to Graduate
Have you completed study and want to graduate? The next Graduation ceremonies are being held 17th - 22nd April 2007 in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. To apply, you must log into Access Adelaide and complete the application by 5:00pm Friday 23rd February.

International Student Orientation
There is a Welcome Centre set up in the Engineering/Maths building on level 2 for all new international students. The Orientation Program for new international students starting their programs in Semester 1, 2007, will run from Monday 5 February to Friday 16 February 2007. Enrolment advice sessions run from Monday 12 February until Wednesday 14 February 2007. Specific enrolment dates for new international students commencing in all programs in Semester 1, will be available on the Enrolment Dates page.
