Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Will International, Australian and South Australian Internet traffic all be counted and charged the same? A. Yes. We won't distinguish between local and international traffic so you can get the best information you need no matter where it is located, but please read the next item. Q. Are there any Internet sites which don't count against my quota? A. Yes, the following sites are not counted against your quota:
Access to other Educational and Government Internet sites has been taken into account when determining the University funded quotas for students. Q. What happens when I access the Internet via the University's modems or my commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP)? A. If you use the University's modems to access the Internet then this will count against your quota, the same as if you were using a computer directly connected to the University network. Q. Where can I purchase additional quota? A. You can purchase quota at the following places:
Q. Is the University monitoring the Internet sites I visit? A. While traffic volumes are routinely measured, the Internet sites which people access are not. This will only be done where there is evidence of inappropriate use of the University's computing services. Q. How can I pay for additional quota? A. You can buy quota in megabytes "bundles" using cash, cheque or credit card.
