Fees and Charges

Undergraduate Programs

Fee-paying places for commencing domestic students in undergraduate programs are not offered from 1 January 2009.

However fee paying places are still valid for:

  • students in Australian Fee-Based Enrolment (AFBE) places who commenced their program of study prior to 1 January 2009.
  • students who have consumed all of their Student Learning Entitlement (SLE)
  • students who advise they do not want a Commonwealth supported place
  • international students who gain permanent residency (but not for all programs)
  • students in Employer-reserved places
  • students who are studying as Bridging for Overseas Trained Professionals.

The University also sets fees for undergraduate courses:

  • offered in Summer and Winter School
  • undertaken by cross-institutional students who are not Commonwealth supported  (i.e. those enrolled in an award program in one institution but studying a course(s) in another institution that will count towards that award)
  • undertaken on a non-award basis, i.e. without leading to any university award.

For further details of eligibility for a fee-paying undergraduate place, and for information on fees, go to the Commonwealth’s Going to Uni website.

Postgraduate Coursework Programs

In 2009, fees for postgraduate coursework programs for domestic students range from AUD$6250 to AUD$28,250 per year, with most programs between AUD$12,000 and AUD$26,000. For more detailed information, please visit Course Planner.

Note: no postgraduate research programs are offered on a fee-paying basis to domestic students. For more about postgraduate degrees by research at the University of Adelaide, visit the Adelaide Graduate Centre.

  • undertaken a non-award basis, i.e. without leading to any university award.
