Applying for SmoothStart

Are you eligible?

SmoothStart is designed to support first year students who won't see many familiar faces in the crowd as they transition to uni from rural, interstate or metro high schools where enrolments are low.

You're eligible for SmoothStart if you are a recent school leaver and can answer YES to one or more of the following questions:

1. Did you attend a rural or interstate school in the past two years (including gap years)?

2. Did you attend a school where few students that you know are intending to study at the University of Adelaide?

3. Are you a first-year Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student?

If you plan to live in University accommodation or a Residential College you may find that there are in-built supports similar to those offered by SmoothStart. However, if you want to increase your opportunities to meet other first years and are eligible according to the above criteria, feel free to register for SmoothStart.  

How to Apply

Applications for SmoothStart will open in January 2012, and will only be accepted once you have received your offer from the University of Adelaide. Applications close on Wednesday 15 February.
