There are three main ways to get to Adelaide Uni:
Buses, O-bahn, trains and trams run regular services throughout Adelaide. Timetables are available at Adelaide Metro and from the Mayo Café.
Buses
Buses service most parts of Adelaide and surrounding suburbs. The 99C (City loop) is a free service running seven days a week. The O-bahn is an express bus that runs to the north-east of Adelaide. Bus stops in the city differ, so always check that you are waiting at the right bus stop to catch your bus.
Trains
The Adelaide Train Station is on North Terrace (a 10 minute walk from the North Terrace campus) and has services travelling from the City to Belair, Noarlunga, Outer Harbour and Salisbury.
Trams
The tramline runs between Glenelg, the city centre and the Entertainment Centre at Hindmarsh. It takes approximately 35 minutes to get from Glenelg to the city. Trams are free between South Terrace and the Entertainment Centre.
Taxis
You can phone for a taxi, 'flag down' a vacant taxi in the street or collect one from a designated taxi rank in the city. To book a taxi call: Yellow Cabs 132 227 | Suburban 131 008 | Adelaide Independent 132 211
Inter-campus Shuttle Bus
The University provides an inter-campus shuttle bus from North Terrace campus to the Roseworthy and Waite campuses.
If you plan to drive or cycle to uni, there are a few locations close to North Terrace campus where vehicles can be parked:
Make sure you buy and display your ticket on your dashboard. If you don't, you may receive a fine as parking officers conduct frequent checks. Motorcycles parked in designated motorcycle bays do not need a parking ticket.
Disability parking on university campus
Students with a Transport SA disabled parking permit are permitted to park on campus in any white lined parking zone or disabled parking zone. Disabled parking permit holders are also given an extra 90 minutes on top of any parking restrictions for example, in a 30 minute zone permit holders are entitled to park for 120 minutes. Contact a Disability Liaison Officer for more information about disability access to the university.
Bicycles
Bike lanes are usually marked on the road and there is a bikeway to various suburbs alongside the River Torrens. By law cyclists must wear a helmet at all times. On campus, bikes can be locked onto bike railings only. If you forget to bring your own bike lock, you can borrow one from the Security Office (located in Wills Hut, outside the Wills Building).
Three bike sheds are also available on the North Terrace campus. To access the sheds, you need an access code added to your ID swipe card (see Card Services for help with this).
