Social contactSome students come to university along with an existing group of friends they knew from school. On the other hand, you might find yourself in classes where you know no-one. This can feel very lonely and chances are there are plenty of others feeling exactly the same. Australians are notoriously reluctant to make the first move in this situation, but it might be worth a try! Early in the year, check out Peer Mentoring Programs that are run by some Faculties and Schools. If you're feeling alone or finding it difficult to make friends your could check out a sports club or society (you'll need to log in) or simply make it a priority to get to know and hang out with some fellow students. Tutorial groups are another good way to get to know other students and form networks - it's part of your campus life and getting the most out of university.
