Life at University

For most students, coming to university will prove to be an exhilarating experience as you take advantage of the many educational and social opportunities.

Initially you may find the transition from secondary to tertiary education to be quite overwhelming. As a university student you will be expected to take responsibility for managing your timetable, attending classes, carrying out your study and research and completing assignments. These links will give you more information about:

The Academic Year

The academic year is divided into two 12-13 week semesters, each followed by an examination period. Semester 1 runs from late February to mid June, and Semester 2 from late July to early November. There is a two-week mid-semester break in each semester.
