Good study skills

One of the keys to a successful time at university is not necessarily what you know … it’s more about how you go about learning and your approach to study.

The Centre for Learning and Professional Development offers a range of resources for students to develop their study skills:

  • Academic Learning and Language seminars. These seminars cover a range of topics including university study skills, essay writing, report writing and speaking at University.  They run all year round, usually go for 50 minutes and bookings are not necessary.
  • Academic Learning and Language (ALL) provides a range of seminars and guided assistance toward the development of your academic skills. They focus on the advancement of academic research, writing and the speaking skills required for success at university. ALL services are free to students enrolled at the University of Adelaide.
  • Maths Learning Service.  The Maths Learning Centre (a free service) can help you with maths or stats problems over a cup of tea or coffee. You may stay as long as you like and visit as often as you need. No appointments required.

The Counselling Service also has a range of online self-help resources for you:
