How are you graded? At the beginning of each course your lecturer will discuss assessment requirements with you. This may include continuous assessment (like written work, tests or participation in class) and/or a final exam. University students are expected to assess and critically think about issues rather than simply repeat learned information. To do well, you will need to consult different sources of information and evaluate from a critical perspective. For many students this is another new skill. If you experience difficulties, take time to talk to your tutors/lecturers to find out where you can improve. Overall, university can be one of the most exciting periods of your life. As well as preparing you for a rewarding career, it will help you to analyse, understand and hopefully contribute to the world you live in!
