Welcome to Adelaide Abroad!
The Adelaide Abroad program is only for current University of Adelaide students who would like to study overseas for part of their degree. The program is offered to undergrad and post grad students - although not all universities are available to both.
$5000 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
We have several $5000 Government grants available to Australian citizens in undergraduate programs to go on exchange to our partners in Malaysia or Thailand, ideally in Semester 2, 2012. Students will need to qualify for exchange as per usual (65% average, minimum of 24 units completed). Check out our excellent study options below:
MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY
Situated just outside Bangkok, Mahidol was ranked the best university in Thailand in 2010. It is a suitable destination for Humanities and Social Sciences, Economics, Business and other disciplines. Visit their website for more information.
UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA
The University of Science, Malaysia is located on the resort island of Penang and is the second-oldest university in Malaysia. It has a reputation as an innovative, research-intensive university and has a broad range of courses on offer. Visit their website for more information.
THAMMASAT UNIVERSITY
The main campus of Thammasat University is located in the heart of Bangkok's Old City, close to many tourist attractions. Originally the University of Moral Science and Politics, the University has political roots but now offers a broad range of study areas with many distinguished Thai alumni. Visit their website for more information.
Once accepted into the exchange program, students will be provided with the necessary forms for the scholarship, which will be paid directly into students' accounts six weeks before departure. Students do not need to pay back the scholarship, nor do they need to justify how it is used.
Interested? Please contact us (or simply apply by the end of January 2012!).
Returning, potential or current exchange students may be interested in the Language & Cultural Exchange Program which aims to encourage students and staff to interact with people from another culture/country on campus through mutual exchange.
If you are an overseas student who would like to study at the University of Adelaide for one or two semesters, please visit the International Students website.
