Costs & Financial Assistance

How much will it cost?

Tuition fees are waived by each exchange institution for incoming students. All other costs are the responsibility of the student.

You will need to consider the following costs when preparing a budget:

  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Travel expenses
  • Passport and visa costs
  • Health and/or travel insurance
  • Any other incidental costs
  • Entertainment

Costs will vary widely across our range of partners – as a very rough guide students would need between AUD$1500-2000 per month. Cost of living information is available from our partner institutions.

What happens with tuition fees?

The great thing about the exchange programme is that you don’t need to pay tuition fees studying overseas at an exchange partner university. You simply pay the standard full-time University of Adelaide tuition that you would normally pay.

If you are a deferring tuition payment via HELP, this continues as normal.
