What to Consider in Choosing a Host University

To get the most out of your exchange experience and choose the right partner university for you, ask yourself several things:

  • Why do you want to go on exchange? What are your personal goals and what do you want to get out of it?
  • Do you have certain academic goals? Consider the academic and general reputation of the universities. Certain universities may be more beneficial to your degree than others. Consider the impact your destination could have on your future career.
  • What countries or areas of the world always sparked your interest? Exchange is the perfect opportunity to experience a country in a way you never have: as a local rather than a tourist.
  • Do you want a university experience that is similar or different to the University of Adelaide? Consider the size of the city and the campus. Consider the university/campus lifestyle and the accommodation options.
