Other Financial Considerations

There are other financial costs to consider when starting university.

You'll generally be expected to have your own textbooks and, depending on the degree you're studying, equipment as well.

Most students will have travel costs and be charged the Student Services Amenity Fee (more information is available on our Student Finance pages).

Also, don't forget to factor in entertainment, clothes, and the other enjoyable things in life!

If you're planning on living away from your family home, you'll need to cover accommodation costs, food, utility bills.

Part-time work can obviously help with financial matters - our recommendation is no more than 20 hours of part-time work per week.
