Applying

Good news! It’s pretty straightforward to apply to the Uni of Adelaide.

If you’re planning to finish Year 12 with an ATAR, you simply apply through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) and select the top six degrees that you’d like to study.

The closing date for undergraduate degrees (except Medicine, Dentistry and Oral Health) is in late September. If you have missed the closing date for the beginning of year entry, mid-year entry is also available for some degrees.

Selection is made in December/January and offers of admission are mailed out to successful applicants in January/February.

If you get accepted into your preferred degree, just accept the offer and get ready for Orientation Week (known as O'Week).

Selection criteria are used to allocate university places. You may be eligible to compete for a uni place using Year 12 results, previous university study, VET qualifications or the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) - find out more on our non-school entry page. Specific rules, prerequisites and cut-offs may apply to your situation.

If you don’t get the offer you want, there are always the second and third round offers.

Can I still apply after the SATAC deadline?

Yes, if you apply after the closing date your application will still be considered but you may not be given equal consideration in the selection process (i.e. you may not receive an offer in February even if your selection rank is equal to or higher than that of an applicant who received an offer in January).

Please note: SATAC charges a late fee for applications lodged after the deadline. Offers are made to late applicants in the February round. Please visit the SATAC website for further information and closing dates.
