Uni is an exciting, life-changing experience – it’s about making the leap from school student to adult. Uni will challenge you academically – and will allow you to gain independence and experience.
At school, you’re used to being in a home class. That all changes at uni, where you attend lectures and tutorials taught by various people, often in different areas of a large campus.
You might find the transition from school to university a bit overwhelming, because you’ll be totally independent for the first time. You’ll be expected to manage your own timetable (and your own time!) by attending classes, carrying out study and research and completing assignments to deadline.
Student support is always available if you need a hand. Just remember to work hard, but also take the time to enjoy the social side of uni life: make new friends, mix with students from other cultures and get involved in groups and social clubs.
If you work hard and make the most of every opportunity, uni can be anything you want it to be.
