Quality and Reputation
The University of Adelaide is a world-class university offering high quality education and training. It is an internationally recognised institution, with a ranking consistently in the top 1% of universities across the world and a member of the Group of Eight; a coalition of Australia’s leading, research intensive universities. The University attracts the best people who are specialists in their fields. When you study with us, you have the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s foremost thinkers and practitioners.
We offer a range of programs with a variety of specialisations and professional disciplines, many of which are unique nationally and globally. Our reputation and course strengths attract the best people worldwide; in our teachers and our students.
Our teaching staff, many of who are among the world’s best, are widely recognised for their educational excellence. In addition to receiving many awards for teaching and educational research, our staff are trusted thought leaders providing information for the community.
Our main campus with heritage buildings is located on the city’s cultural promenade, North Terrace and is surrounded by the State’s art gallery, museum and library.
We acknowledge that some students are unable to travel to our physical location. To overcome this, we offer online coursework programs enabling students to benefit from the University’s expertise without needing to commute to its physical locality. As a student you will have access to the University of Adelaide Library and resources. The electronic holdings alone include over 25 million journal articles, covering more than 20,000 e-journal titles.
We appreciate that our postgraduate students often have many competing time commitments that may include managing work and family. We offer a range of support services to help you with anything from administrative matters relating to your degree to childcare. For a list of these services, refer to our Support Services site.
