What Happens After I Apply?
You've done your research, chosen your uni preferences and lodged your SATAC application - now what?
Achieving Your Goals
There's still work to be done, of course - you'll want to give yourself the best possible opportunity to achieve your uni goals by doing your best in Year 12.
We offer a couple of different ways to help with your Year 12 studies; a must-visit is our Exam Top Tips page, which has many helpful hints on how to do your best.
We also have Year 12 holiday programs, which run during school holidays throughout the year and aim to help you achieve your full academic potential.
Results & Offers
ATAR results usually come out just before Christmas each year.
You might be feeling a bit overwhelmed? Really excited? Or unsure of what's next?
You'll have about two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period to think about what you want to do, get as much info as you can, and possibly change your preferences via the SATAC website. Every year we hold our Change of Preference event for students needing individual advice.
Once the window for changing your preferences closes (usually in early January), it will be another approximately 2 weeks before uni offers are made through SATAC.
There are multiple rounds of offers made over approximately six weeks, so if you don't get into your first preference in the first round, don't despair: the offer may come in later rounds, or it may also give you an opportunity to look at alternative programs or pathways to studying your preferred degree (start with the ever-helpful Degree Finder - but make sure you meet cut-off score, prerequisites and any other requirements).
And we're always happy to talk through your options. Our experienced student advisers are available to answer your questions on +61 8 8313 5208, or use the online enquiry form.
