Program Fees

The following information is a breakdown of the program fees in Australian Dollars (AUD). For today's exchange rates, visit OANDA Currency Converter. 

Although students are encouraged to participate in the whole program, as it will provide maximum immersion in the Australian experience, finances can sometimes prove to be a hurdle. As such the program fees have been broken into three sections. All students will participate in section A and can then choose if they would like to add on section B and/or C. Please see below for further details.

Fee Breakdown

A. Tuition + Fieldtrip Component #1                            AUD 5550.00

• Core course of ‘Indigenous History & Cultures’ + one elective course (this equates to
  6‐8 US credit points – the equivalent of ¼ of a year’s fulltime study load).
• Fieldtrips:
  • The Living Kaurna Cultural Centre (1/2 day)
  • SA Museum Archives (1/2 day)
  • NAIDOC March (1 day)
  • Kangaroo Island (2 days and includes meals and accommodation)
  • Cleland Wildlife Park (1 day and includes lunch)
• Airport pick up
• Orientation
• A variety of extra-cirricular activities that students can choose to participate in. These activites may include, but are not limited to, quiz night, Australian Football League game, Australian movie night, learn to play Australian sports and barbeques. These activities will be confirmed closer to the start date of the program.
• University of Adelaide student card that entitles students to discounted public
  transport, discounted movie tickets, access to 24 hour computer suites, library
  borrowing, etc…

B. Accommodation                                                           AUD 1540.00, 1820.00 or 2240.00

Students will be accommodated in a three bedroom, fully furnished apartment with kitchen and laundry, during their stay in Adelaide. There are three accommodation prices that based on which room option students choose. Each of the three options provide students with their own private room. It is a matter of students indicating what size room they want and whether they would like a private bathroom or a bathroom that they would share with one other student. Students are to number their preference of room options on the application form, but are encouraged to apply early as rooms will be allocated on a first‐come‐first‐serve basis. Please note: student who do not choose to stay in the University organised accommodation will be responsible for the organisation of their own accommodation. Unless students are planning to stay with family or friends in Adelaide, they are strongly encouraged to stay in the University organised accommodation.

Please note:

An accomodation bond of AUD 400 will also be required in case of any damages. Bonds will be transfered back into students accounts by the University within two weeks of departure.  

C. Fieldtrip Component #2                                              AUD 1700.00

Fieldtrip component #2 includes an eight day fieldtrip to Australian Outback. Cost includes meals and accommodation. This fieldtrip will occur at the end of the program once classes have finished. Students who do not wish to participate in this component will be able to return home from 25 July 2010.
