Student Testimonies
Tara Bates
Bachelor Law/Arts
In 2008, I undertook two Summer School courses to accelerate my Law degree.
This enabled me to complete six elective units of my degree in a short period
of time. Yes, the workload was intensive, but it was worthwhile as I was
able to be eligible for Graduation earlier than initially planned.
Summer School allowed me to participate in courses that I would not have
had the opportunity to take during normal semester time. For example, I was
able to take Immigration and Refugee Law, a challenging yet interesting course
that is not offered at any other time of the year.
Due to the intensive nature of Summer & Winter School courses, students
are provided with the opportunity to engage with one another in a more relaxed
and less intimidating environment, and I certainly felt that this contributed
in assisting my learning of the issues covered within the course.
Staff – Academic Testimonies
Cate Jerram
PhD - Information Systems for Organisational Change;
BEd(Hons) - Drama for Education; BAdEd.
"I enjoy teaching, and particularly enjoy summer school. Class sizes
are smaller, the engagement time is longer and more intense, there's opportunity
for real interaction between students, the material, and with me. It's more
intense and challenging but is deeply satisfying and rewarding."
