Cross Institutional Students
What is Cross Institutional Study?
Students from other Australian universities can undertake approved courses at the University of Adelaide for credit towards an award at their home institution. They receive instruction, assessment and examination results but are not enrolled in a University of Adelaide's award program.
Enrolment Process
Step 1: Complete an Application Form
Complete a Cross Institutional Application Form and submit it to the Summer & Winter School (see form for details).
Students should ensure that they have provided all the relevant details, including the signature of a relevant staff member at their home institution and evidence of completing any course pre-requisite (where required).
Cross institutional students wanting to apply for Summer School 2012 are encouraged to submit their application forms before online enrolment opens on Monday 5 December 2011. This is to ensure that there is enough time for applications to be process and username/password posted so that cross institutional students are ready to enrol online with current University of Adelaide students.
Cross institutional students wanting to applying for Winter School 2012 are encouraged to do so from January 2012 onwards.
Step 2: Receive a Username and Password
Students will be informed by the relevant Faculty/School as to whether their application has been successful. Successful students will then receive a University of Adelaide username and password by post and will then be able to enrol via Access Adelaide from 5 December 2011.
Step 3: Enrol online from Monday 5 December 2011
Successful cross Institutional student applicants can enrol online from Monday, 6 December 2010 through Access Adelaide after receiving their University of Adelaide username and password in the mail.Note: There is no longer a need for domestic students to submit a paper copy of the 'Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP' form, as this will be undertaken online by the student through Access Adelaide when they enrol in their course choice(s).
Credit at Home Institution
It is the student’s responsibility to liaise with their home institution to ensure that they will be awarded credit. This approval should be gained during the application process.
Once the student's grades have been posted via Access Adelaide the student will be responsible for providing a copy of their transcript to their home institution so that credit can be received.
- Unofficial transcripts can be obtain for free online via Access Adelaide
- Official transcripts can be obtained through the Student Centre, but will incur a cost
Students should check with their home institution as to what type of transcript (official/unofficial) they require.
