Last Time Out: To the Power of Three - 2 nights only!
Last Time Out flyer
"I married you for six million dollars" ... or so says the morally bankrupt character 'Ted' in what will be the Last Time Out for the Guild in 2011.
To the Power of Three continues on from First Time Out, our annual new writing project where a small group of Theatre Guild actors interpret new writing, submitted by students and not necessarily written for the stage, and turn it into a theatrical event.
But this time round, we have 3 directors, who have created 3 independent plays from submissions by students of the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and University Senior College.
Exploring themes of life, love, death and betrayal, To the Power of Three promises to provide another intriguing and entertaining night at the Little Theatre.

"The first duty of a storyteller is to tell a story ..."
But what if that story is so repellent, so against the natural order of things, that it imposes something on the reader that cannot be wiped away?
Katurian, a seemingly innocent writer of short stories grimmer than Grimm, is being interrogated by two police officers somewhere in a totalitarian dictatorship. But why? Could it be because children are being murdered and maimed in very similar circumstances to those in his macabre fairytales?
Is art imitating life or life imitating art? What responsibility does a writer take when fiction becomes fact?
McDonagh's blacker than black comedy poses many questions as it takes the audience on a daring white knuckle ride into the power of storytelling.
You'll be horrified, thrilled and even laugh at this award-winning play by the celebrated writer of In Bruges.
Winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play
Winner of the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Foreign Play

Eddie Carbone never expected to have a destiny ...
Eddie Carbone is a hardworking Italian-American longshoreman living in a lower working class neighbourhood of Brooklyn with his wife Beatrice and niece Catherine. They lead a simple but happy life until Beatrice's exotic Sicilian cousins arrive one night and turn their world upside down. Loves and loyalties are tested as the new arrivals settle in leading to a catastrophic climax. Was it inevitable or did Eddie have the power to alter "the bloody course"?
Written and set at the height of the post-war illegal immigration boom, Arthur Miller's 'A View from the Bridge' is a taut drama of Greek proportions that explores the themes of law and justice, trust and betrayal, innocence and sexual awakening but most of all, loyalty and honour.
Arthur Miller is regarded as one of the greatest dramatists of the twentieth century and 'A View from the Bridge' was recently revived to great critical acclaim both on Broadway and in London's West End.
