Card Services processes all valid requests for building access. If you require building access to a particular area, see your departmental Access Control Delegate who will provide you with an authorised Access Request Form, also available for download. This form should then be delivered to Card Services in person, by internal mail or faxed to 8303 8096 for processing.

If a form needs to be processed within a few hours (for example on a Friday afternoon for weekend access), the access request form must be submitted by 4pm. Card Services will attempt to process all urgent requests where reasonable.

An Access Control Delegate or Reserve Delegate may request that access privileges be removed by indicating as much on an Access Request Form, which should also be returned to Card Services.

Visitors to the University may also be entitled to building access, if authorised by an Access Control Delegate. Visitors, or the authorising area, must purchase a Visitor Card for a fee onto which the access privileges can be encoded.

Visitor Cards will remain active unless the Access Control Delegate has notified Card Services to de-activate the access.

Student Net Access Plan (SNAP)

The Student Net Access Plan (SNAP) is a mechanism to manage the University's access and use of the Internet. This includes allocating quotas to undergraduate, honours and postgraduate coursework students for the amount of information they download from the external internet.

Students are charged for Internet use above a specified quota (250 Mb undergraduate local students, 500 Mb International students, 500 Mb for Honours and 500 Mb for postgraduate coursework). The use of internal University of Adelaide Internet sites does not count against these quotas.

These quotas are provided for University related use of the Internet and at the end of each internet period the university allocation is cleared and a new allocation is provided for the following internet period. Additional usage above the specified quota will be charged to students.
Internet usage by staff and postgraduate research students will be reported to their associated departments, who will be responsible for traffic costs.

For further information please visit the SNAP web site
