The College is an academic, co-educational, independent school offering senior secondary education for students in Years 11 and 12. It is a chance for secondary students to experience university while still at school and thus prepares and makes the transition from school to university more successful.
Card Services issues the students of USC with the Passenger Transport Boards secondary student card. Staff cards are also issued to the USC teachers. The USC card is an all-in-one card designed to make life easier for students and teachers on campus. It gives the holder convenient access to a whole range of essential campus services and functions.
You can use the USC student / staff card:
- For identification on University Campuses
- For student concessions (full-time students only)
- As a library card for borrowing, printing and photocopying facilities in the University of Adelaide Libraries

New students are issued a card at orientation upon presenting the blue 'USC Authority to Collect an Identification Card' form. These forms are available from the University Senior College Office. These cards are updated annually with the issue of a new card.
New teachers are issued a card upon appointment by also presenting the blue 'USC Authority to Collect an Identification Card' form to Card Services.
