Honours Scholarships
Honours students within the School of Animal & Veterinary Sciences are eligible to apply for a range of scholarships. Some of the more common scholarships are listed below.

Beef CRC Honours Scholarships |
9 available each year Open to all Australian students who undertake an Honours project within the Co-operative Research Centre for Beef Genetic Technologies. Stipend of $4800 and operating costs of up to $5000. Must have a Beef CRC scientist as a supervisor. |

RSPCA Australia Alan White Scholarship for Animal Welfare Research |
The RSPCA Australia Alan White Scholarship for Animal Welfare Research was established in 1989 to advance the cause of animal welfare in Australia. The scholarship is named after Mr Alan White, a past President of RSPCA Australia and a past President of RSPCA Queensland. The Alan White Scholarship is available to full-time or part-time students in Australian tertiary institutions for the funding of original research aimed at improving the welfare of animals in Australia. | RSPCA Australia Scholarship for Humane Animal Production Research | This scholarship category is available for individual research projects that are related to the development of humane alternative animal production systems. These awards are funded by the royalties accrued from the RSPCA Australia Approved Farming Scheme. |

| The J.R. Barker Scholarships 2008 | This scholarship was founded in memory of the late Mr John Robert Barker, and is available to students undertaking research in connection with primary production in South Australia (more particularly in the livestock and wool industries). The value of the scholarship in 2008 is $4,000.
The scholarship is available to one full-time student enrolled in an Honours program at the University of Adelaide. Graduates of other universities are also eligible to apply. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and relevant research. |

| The Commonwealth Hill Honours Scholarship | This Scholarship is open to full time honours students commencing a program at the University of Adelaide in 2011 in the field of beef and wool, grazing of native pastures, organic management and improvement, dry land salinity, sustainability of flora, animal breeding (in particular marino sheep), water conservation and sustainability, river management, plantation of olives, soil erosion or any other area of research that would be of benefit to the future development and maintenance of agricultural areas within Australia. | Australian Wool Education Trust Fund Scholarship | The Trust supports 15 Project Scholarships per year (available to suitable applicants from any University), each of which is valued at $6,000 - with $3000 being allocated to the student and the balance to the University to fund its support for the student.
