Research Day 2012
Our “Research Day” is an opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievements in their scientific endeavours. All of our veterinary students have the opportunity to do a small clinical research project of their own in the first of their clinical years of study. It is also an opportunity for them to experience research at the bench face, and see the importance of research in their veterinary career and continued professional development. Honours and PhD students are the “lifeblood” of our research community and the hands through which most academics conduct research.
All of these students are given an opportunity on “Research Day” to spruik their wares, to show off their year’s achievements with posters and oral presentations and to discuss them with fellow students and academic staff.
In 2012, we were joined by one of the world’s most renowned research veterinarians, the only one yet to have been awarded a Nobel prize, Professor Peter C Doherty from Melbourne.
