Chris Richards and Associates Prize in Veterinary Medicine
This Prize has been established by a contribution to the University by Chris Richards and Associates, an organisation which provides swine veterinary consultancy to pig farms around the world.
- The prizes will be awarded by the University annually, for up to three Level I students undertaking the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. To be considered, students must submit a short essay (maximum of 500 words) to the School of Animal and Veterinary Science’s Academic Programs Officer on their interest in swine veterinary medicine.
- The value of the Prize will be $1,000 to support the recipient’s attendance at a two week placement with Chris Richards and Associates, or such other amount as the University shall from time to time determine. Three $1,000 prizes will be awarded annually for a period of three years from 2014.
- The winner(s) shall be determined based on their written essay and their participation/performance in swine-related activities by staff member(s) with a focus on swine or intensive production medicine and who teach into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.
